Coniston Hall Residence (Manchester; Inglaterra; Gran Bretaña) Phone: 0161 248 5585 Postal Address: 67 - 77 Hathersage Road, Manchester, M13 OEW Ideally situated within easy walking distance of the University of Manchester and MMU, Coniston Hall provides a unique environment for students wishing to pursue academic excellence. With the provision of excellent study facilities, the Hall seeks to attract good students who wish to achieve the best results whilst making the most of their time at university. The ethos of the Hall is based on the traditional idea of a University: to create an atmosphere of enquiry, independence and openness. In a spacious building, this independent hall of residence offers accommodation in individual study rooms each with its own washbasin. The catering — no worries about cooking, heating or cleaning — is an obvious bonus. We have the reputation of providing the best meals in Manchester! Yet the real attraction lies in the friendliness and stimulus of a congenial atmosphere. Coniston Hall has been open to students since 1993 when the Ashley Education Trust (AET), a registered charity, acquired the premises. It was officially opened in 1996 by the then Mayor of Manchester, Joyce Keller. Whilst the Hall welcomes students of all creeds and ethnic backgrounds, the pastoral care in Coniston Hall has been entrusted to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church which aims to help people lead a fully Christian life: to seek holiness through their study and daily work, their family and social commitments.
